That this
could be had with a 2.5 liter straight six engine
In my personal ranking of FWD sedans it has just jumped up ten positions purely due to the awesomeness of I6s.

plus they are pretty reliable.

Was surprised as well.

This was one of the best cars that nobody bought.

So this thing was apparently quite decent? Interesting

Yep. FWIW, it’s also a Giugiaro design.

Typical well equipped, cheap sedan. Nobody bought them when new, nobody buys them now, no matter how good they really are. The 2005+ Kia Magentis is another completely forgotten car that might be quite decent if loaded.

This explains why it is not totally hideous.

One of my neighbors has one. It was sold here in the states as the Suzuki Verona. It isn’t aging well. The paint is bad, and the headlights are very yellow.

Probably not the car’s fault on either count.

Here in the U.S., the Suzuki Verona (as this car was called) was considered a bit of a dog because that 2.5-liter six was slower than most competing four-cylinder midsize sedans.

It’s hard to tell, because I never see any other ones on the road. I think Suzuki sold about five or six of them before giving up.
